Here comes the sun!

Fly TAT 1 - Thursday, June 09, 2011
The plants are enjoying their daylong dose of sunshine! The sun rose at 4:11 a.m. and sets at 23:49 tonight.  Here's a little sample of the veggies and flowers we have growing out on our sundeck!

Clear Blues Skies

Fly TAT - Monday, June 06, 2011
It feels good to have clear blue skies again. The view coming into work today was spectacular. We've been flying all morning. Keep up the good thoughts for continued good weather.

Our Window of Opportunity is here!

Fly TAT - Saturday, June 04, 2011
The weather has cleared up this afternoon and we are able to fly! We are so excited to get climbers up to Base Camp and get Danial off the mountain. She has been stuck there since yesterday when weather came in and stopped her from getting out.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Fly TAT 1 - Friday, June 03, 2011
We wanna fly! At least there is something beautiful due to the rain.

Another beautiful day!

Fly TAT 1 - Sunday, May 29, 2011

A fabulous picture taken in the range. No wonder people love it up here.

Opening of Root Canal

Fly with TAT - Thursday, April 21, 2011

Recent conditions in the Root Canal look good.  A meter of new snow fell over a week ago a good freeze-thaw cycle has been created.  There still has not been an ascent but two parties are making an attempt.

We dropped our first group off at Base Camp. Conditions at the time were ideal and we are waiting for updated reports as the Park Rangers arrive and prepare to head up the Mountain.  Base Camp will open "officially"  on April 28th.

Yippee!!! Ted is Back!!!

Fly with TAT - Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Serious spring snow removal operations have begun at TAT. Bob Young and Ted conspire on where to make mountains.

Holy Snow Storm... And new conditions in the Range.

Fly with TAT - Tuesday, April 12, 2011
After the snow showers lifted in the Alaska Range we were delighted to see lots of fresh snow to help the climbing season get off to a good start after a windy winter with little snow.
Paul's drop off at the Pika glacier last week was a good test of shoveling skills and wading in neck-deep snow.

This photo is from the Pika glacier.  Yes, Paul is in fact standing, not digging to China. He and the group he dropped off were busy working on the runway for the Otter, that was up to its belly in snow.

ALASKA RANGE CONDITIONS REPORT:

Snow, Snow and More Snow.  The storm last week dumped snow in the range, here are reports from TAT pilots and climbers.
Going into the Ruth at the mountain house, the snow was waist deep.
Pika glacier had snow neck deep.
Reports from the Buckskin of chest deep snow.

Foxy takes a spring trip to the Buckskin glacier.

Fly with TAT - Monday, April 04, 2011
It is really starting to feel like climbing season at TAT... Sleds are resurfacing, we are awaiting Ted's return and the white gas has been shoveled out.

Talkeetna Air Taxi's 'Foxy' takes a trip to the Buckskin. This is the first arrival to the East side of the Moose's Tooth. The area had moderate snow coverage, and we will pass along a report on conditions when we pick up our climbers.

April showers bring snow showers into the mountain range.  A long awaited foot of fresh snow has fallen in the range this past week.  With snow in forecast this week, we are hoping for some more spring snow to cover up the winter-windblown mountains.
Currently at the Talkeetna State Airport, it is 40 degrees and snowing.
