Mountain Transport - Pricing Information

There are a number of costs associated with your entrance into Denali national Park: Park Fees and Mountain Transport.

National Park Service Fees

There is a $200 fee for climbing McKinley or Foraker, plus park entrance fee of $10 per person or $20 per family and you must register 60 days in advance for McKinley and Foraker.

NEW FOR THE 2008 SEASON:  Appointments are required for all orientations.  Teams should contact the Talkeetna Ranger Station as soon as practical to schedule a time as appointments fill up fast.  Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., seven days a week.  Expeditions should

arrive 30 minutes prior to the appointment time to pay the special use

permit and park entrance fees.

Web Site: National Park Service - Denali Mountaineering

Note:  If you plan to climb with a guide, make certain that the service is authorized by Denali National Park and Preserve. Each year climbers mistakenly pay illegal guides that advertise their services. Illegal guiding is prohibited and these climbs could be cancelled at any time.

Mountain Transport

All prices are round trip per person from Talkeetna. Prices for one-way trips into or out of these areas are negotiable, but half-fare can be expected. These prices include two nights bunkhouse accommodations (one before and one after trip), up to 125 lbs gear per person, street gear, valuable storage and periodic air checks. Special group and school rates are available. If you are interested in an area not listed below, if conditions are good we will get you in.

Note:  The valuable storage is VERY limited.  It is intended only for SMALL wallets, passports, tickets and is NOT intended for laptops, packs or cameras.  Also, the gear storage area is open during the day for climbers to sort and store, so it is not recommended for valuable items, usually just street clothes and shoes.

Excess Gear: Talkeetna Air Taxi charges $1 per pound when a group weighs in at over 125 pounds per person. The extra charge could result in an additional plane charter to area requested.

A $100 group deposit reserves your flight and the date can be flexible.
