Talkeetna Rafting and Kayaking

Talkeetna Air Taxi provides air transport for raft and kayak trips to the upper Talkeetna River.  We are excited to offer this service again and look forward to getting you on the river.  Team TAT (the Talkeetna Air Taxi staff) spent about 100 hours of hard physical labor bringing the “Yellow Jacket” strip up to par for safe landings.   Please call in advance for conditions of the river and runway.

Talkeetna Air Taxi's De-Havilland Beaver "Nine-Zero-Yankee" will be available for raft and kayak drop-offs in the Talkeetna area.  90Y can haul 1200 pounds per load, typically four passengers plus gear.  Drop-offs will be early morning due to favorable weather patterns at that time in the Talkeetna Mountains.  7 a.m. is the desired departure time.

$850 per load to Yellow Jacket.  Contact us for rates to other locations. Recommended guiding services:NOVA River Runners, Too-loo-uk River Guides

Fly-In Hiking

Talkeetna Mountains - Explore the ancient and overlooked Talkeetna Mountains.  Fly into the mountainous alpine tundra and pitch your tent among Dall sheep and caribou.  This trail-less wilderness is the unexplored Alaska!  Set up a base camp and return each day, or pitch multiple camps walking ridge-tops, viewing endless mountain ranges and visiting deep cobalt alpine lakes.  In August live off the land and feast on miles of blueberries.

$500 per person This price is for flight only, guide not included – contact us for recommendations on guiding services.

Guided Glacier Trekking in the Alaska Range

Talkeetna Air Taxi, in partnership with Alaska Mountaineering School, will be offering a guided glacier trek on the slopes of Mt. McKinley in the Alaska Range. This is a true Alaskan adventure for families and friends. The intensity level is up to you: kids can spend the day sledding, for the more ambitious we can climb Mt. Mischio, burly looking but you can climb it in one day.  Your group can simply choose to relax and take it all in, while your guide makes hot drinks in the most spectacular place on the planet.

$1,100 per person:  The price includes round trip air fare, a scenic Denali glacier flight, guide & instruction, meals, insulation layers, double plastic mountaineering boots, all personal and group climbing equipment (harness, crampons, ice axe, ropes, etc.), snow shoes, camping gear, safety equipment.    Dates Available: May 1 - Sept 15, 2010

Please contact us with reservations, questions, and ideas for other locations.

“I really enjoyed working with you & your team as well. You always made me feel that we were in safe hands.
At the end of the day it doesn’t get any better than that.”
